Today was an Open Day at THE KEY. Lots of visitors came to see the drama group and music group working together to run through the ‘Rime of the Ancient Mariner’, a performance in rehearsal based upon the poem by Samuel Taylor Coleridge.
Four quite intensive open rehearsals in front of audiences with everyone fully focussed on the task at hand. It was pointed out that not only did everyone know their parts, but that there was a real feeling that we captured the poem’s essence. It was also noted that it was one of the longest pieces he had seen everyone be part of. One audience member said that this is what drama is all about.
The rehearsals went well, and everyone that took part enjoyed the performance. They look forward to doing more in the future.
